I shoot documentary-style, which means I'm not directing you. I show up, I watch what's happening, and I photograph that. It's a pretty simple approach that most photographers don't use because it requires giving up control of the scene, which turns out to be the whole point.
I've been based in Richmond since 2016, after living in four cities across two states and a chapter in the Netherlands. I know the area well and can help you find a location if you don't have one in mind.
